Cool Off with Thoughts of Fall and Haunt Jaunt

With temperatures lingering solidly in the triple digits, let’s turn our attention to a cooler month and a fun event. It’s not too early to consider signing up for Haunt Jaunt 2018, Plano’s premiere Nighttime 5K and Fun Run. On Saturday, October 20, hundreds will gather at Oak Point Park to run and walk in the area’s only haunted course. You can be among the horde if you start training now!

Take advantage of any of our air-conditioned recreation facilities (Oak Point, Carpenter Park, Tom Muehlenbeck and Liberty Recreation Centers) to train in comfort for the Haunt Jaunt course. The entire family is welcome to participate in this unique way of celebrating both Halloween and the great outdoors at the same time – healthy fun!

Each year the 5K and Fun Run route is made more challenging as it’s lined with unexpected Halloween-themed horrors. The 5K takes you through the nature preserve along paved park trails combining the convenience of a smooth running surface and the beauty of the Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve.

Beat the heat and condition yourself now for this “cool” fall event. Visit the Haunt Jaunt website for details about the costume contest, food, location, vendors and registration fees for individuals and teams.
