Where Should I Go for Medical Care? Avoid a Shocking ER Bill

EmergencyRoom

It can be overwhelming knowing where to go for medical care. The best way to be prepared is to establish a relationship with a Primary Care Physician, but unexpected accidents and illnesses can happen any time.

There are many healthcare options available, so it’s important for you to prepare in advance to avoid unnecessary expenses.

Did you know an emergency room visit can cost your deductible plus copay, totaling at least $1,450? Urgent care centers can treat most non-threatening healthcare issues for a copay of $50. When searching for urgent care facilities in your area, be careful not to choose a free-standing emergency room. If you truly have an emergency, you may have to be transported to a hospital and will pay additional fees.

For only $5, Village Health Partners/Pediatrics, CVS MinuteClinic or Doctor on Demand are available for after-hours care. If you are an established patient at Village Health Partners/Pediatrics, you can typically get a same-day appointment.

It is easy to find the best option for your needs by logging onto myuhc.com, downloading the UHC Health4Me app on your phone or contacting Compass at Jordan.white@compassphs.com.
