Veterans Day in Plano…A Hero’s Snapshot

WEB Davey Kheao Army Sustainability

If you ever wondered what the face of a hero looks like, TeamPlano offers memorable glimpses of faces that fit the bill. In observance of Veterans Day 2019, let’s recognize the men and women who serve in the military (past and present) – particularly those we know personally.

Plano’s own Judge Don Stevenson leads the charge acknowledging employees and relatives for their military service. As the "keeper of the Team Plano Veterans roster," he spearheads the City’s campaign to honor the vets near to our hearts.

For hundreds of years, brave soldiers have died and brave soldiers have lived to tell the tale. On Monday, November 11, the nation pays tribute to the men and women who served in one or more of America’s 12 major wars – from the Revolutionary War to the Iraq War.

History.com produced a compelling Veterans Day video, along with interesting facts:

NOTE:  The Rotary Club of Plano East observes Veterans Day again with the placement of more than 1,000 American flags at Oak Point Field (area behind Collin College). Each flag tells the story of a hero who sacrificed their life in service to our country. It's a great way to mark the importance of this holiday.
