It’s Time Texas, which began in January, has come to a close! This statewide community health challenge encouraged Team Plano departments to get creative making healthier lifestyle decisions. Thank you to every department that submitted It’s Time Texas (ITT) healthy workplace activities and photos!
Each department earned $50 just by sending photos – money they can use on other healthy team activities (e.g. staff lunch, massages, etc.).
In addition to Courtney Vanous (Parks and Recreation) and Pam Hanks (Environmental Waste Services), the following received $150 for her department’s participation as well:
Linette Magana (Planning) said, “Our team took a tour of the workout room in the basement since several of us had never been down there. We did a group exercise for 15 minutes. Later we enjoyed a healthy Jason’s Deli lunch, while playing a game of Heads Up! We had a blast and it really was a great way to show that you can have fun while practicing healthy habits!”
Linette also helped plan “Chocolate Day” to focus on the mental/emotional aspect of a healthier lifestyle. A good attitude is as important as your physical well-being. Everyone had huge smiles as they dipped strawberries in chocolate (three types ranging from 60% to 100% real chocolate). The team also hosted “Smoothie Day” with fresh ingredients. SEE PHOTOS.
Way to go, PLANNING DEPARTMENT – you’re true advocates for wellness!
