It is with great sadness we share news that Anita Acquisto Bell passed away on Friday, February 1. She joined the Team Plano family on September 24, 1990 working in the Finance department. Some years later, Anita transferred to Budget & Research (September 2000) where she retired in May 2018 as a Budget Analyst II.
Anita was born in Birmingham, Alabama – the oldest of four girls. She attended John Carroll Catholic School and was on the swim team. After high school, she attended Jacksonville State University. Moving to Dallas in 1978, Anita had three daughters and was a wonderful stay at home mom for several years before working as a school nurse for St. Mark Catholic School in Plano.
Anita met an extraordinary man, Jack, and they married in 2006. The pair enjoyed many tropical vacations to exotic places over the years. Building their dream house at Cedar Creek Lake, the couple spent time boating and hanging out with family and friends. Anita loved to read, take naps and was always doing things for other people. She was the best “Nona” to her grandbabies.
Anita Bell passed away peacefully holding the hand of her beloved Jack at Faith Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. She was 63 years old.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara. Survivors include her husband Jack and father Sam; daughters Alyson (Ryan Zembower), Amy (Dennis Wilson) and Angela (Kyle Payne) and son Justin Bell (Hope); her beloved grandchildren Laney, Audrey, Christian, Cameron, Caleigh, Landon, Sydney, Avery and Preston; sisters, Kathy (Garry) Phillips, Judy (Gary) Hagood and Tommie Acquisto; plus several nieces and nephews.
Karen Rhodes-Whitley was Anita’s director and close friend. Karen says, “We appreciate everyone’s love and support toward Anita during her journey.”
Services for Anita are on Saturday, February 9 at Faith Presbyterian Hospice (T. Boone Pickens Center), 12477 Merit Drive in Dallas.
