Join 90 x 90: Soggy Conditions Cause C4H to Postpone Triple Crown Series

triple crown flyer2018

The Connect4Health (C4H) Triple Crown series is officially postponed until 2019, but the 90x90 Challenge is still ON! Senior Wellness Coordinator Michelle Gifford made the determination in light of the cancellation of two key components of the series – the Plano Balloon Festival Races and the Haunt Jaunt 5K and Fun Run. Triple Crown participants were required to take part in any three of four fitness events. (90 Miles in 90 Days and a local Turkey Trot were the other two events.)

An unseasonable number of rainy days caused several North Texas outdoor events to cancel. However, the C4H Triple Crown Series is slated to return in Spring 2019.

In the meantime, all of you taking the 90 miles in 90 Days Challenge still earn a prize at the 45 mile mark and 90 mile mark. Those signed up for the Plano Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk (November 22) also get the employee discounted registration. Sign-up for the Plano Turkey Trot at Txruns.com/planoturkeytrot and enter coupon code: PlanoTT for a 10% discount.

There's still time to join the fun 90 miles in 90 Days Challenge (formerly called 60 By 60) if you haven't already signed up. This wellness event takes you on an “every step matters” trek to fitness and prizes!

It runs through December 28. The main objective is to increase your daily movement, to promote a healthy and active lifestyle during the winter and holiday months, and to establish healthy and fun habits along the way! Instructions are easy:

  • Signup here:  teamplano.us/90x90
  • Record the number of miles you complete on a tracking log which Senior Wellness Coordinator Michelle Gifford will provide.
  • Submit tracking logs to Michelle at the 45-mile mark and the 90-mile mark to earn really neat prizes!

Knowing it may be hard to stay motivated during the three months, Michelle will email weekly nutrition tips, a group walk schedule and individual mini-challenges to make it easier to achieve your goal.
