Donate to the VIP Coat & Blanket Drive…Its Cold Outside

Staying indoors because of the wet weather? Make good use of being temporarily waterlogged by diving into your closets for coats you no longer need – it will help someone in need. The Volunteers in Plano (VIP) staff is asking for Team Plano’s help with the Project Warm-Up Coat and Blanket Drive from now through Monday, October 29!

Make a clean sweep of that overcrowded space and donate your gently used coats and blankets to people who can really use them. This year donations go to support the efforts of Streetside Showers, a non-profit group providing mobile hot showers and hygiene care to the homeless.

The organization wants to also offer warmth to the adults and children they serve. Streetside Showers plans to distribute donated coats and blankets. Watch the group in action.

Drop off your new and gently-used items from Monday, October 15 to Monday, October 29 at several collection locations**:

Action Center – Municipal Center

Haggard Library

Liberty Recreation Center

Police – Crime Prevention, Joint Use Facility

Police Headquarters

Public Works

Fire – Logistics Warehouse (Station 12)

Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center

**  See flyer for the names of contacts at each location.
